Firstly, what is rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition affecting the face, causing redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes acne-like bumps. It typically starts after 30, with triggers like sunlight, stress, and certain foods. While there’s no cure, treatments from a dermatologist, lifestyle changes, and a personalised skincare routine can manage symptoms.
Aidan's skincare journey
How did rosacea affect you?
It was very frustrating. I’ve had rosacea on and off since my 30s and it flares up and down. I tried lots of over the counter products without any improvement which is frustrating. It can affect your confidence to quite a degree. I think it’s also triggered by stress which is a vicious cycle.
When did you start to notice a difference in your skin?
I noticed a subtle improvement in the first few weeks. After about 2 months there was a noticeable improvement in the spots and then the redness faded. I’ve continued with the topical medication and this seems to be keeping things at bay.
What was your treatment plan?
It was a high strength azelaic acid formulation combined with a course of oral antibiotics.
Would you recommend this service?
Yes it was faff free and very efficient. It is difficult to get a GP appointment nowadays and UNCOUTH provides ongoing input which is extremely helpful.
