12 WEEK COURSE ACNE
The Acne Pill
Spots Inflammation Redness
Oral antibiotic tablets can be very effective in the treatment of both acne and rosacea.
The price is from £35 for a 12 week course.
Oral antibiotics are used by doctors to treat acne and rosacea. The antibiotics we prescribe include doxycycline, erythromycin or lymecycline. In the online consultation, we will ask what you have used before, what has worked for you in the past and if you have any preferences.
Antibiotic tablets are prescribed by dermatologists alongside topical treatment to improve results. Your prescriber may prescribe doxycycline, erythromycin or lymecycline. Antibiotic tablets target the bacteria that cause acne, reducing inflammation which leads to clearer skin.
This will depend on which antibiotic tablet you are prescribed. Take as directed by your prescriber always read the patient information leaflet that accompanies your tablets.
- Always complete the full course, even if your skin starts to clear up.
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure, as antibiotics can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
- If you experience side effects like stomach pain, diarrhoea, or allergic reactions, contact your healthcare provider right away.
- Do not combine with certain medications or supplements without checking with your healthcare provider.
This is not an exhaustive list of side effects and important information. You must always read the information leaflet that accompanies your tablets prior to takin them.
Certain antibiotics tablets should not be used during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. It’s important to tell your prescriber about any medication you are on to ensure it can be taken alongside your prescription tablets. Please note, some tablets may contain gelatin.
**This is not an exhaustive list of side effects, and it is important to read the patient information leaflet that accompanies your medication prior to use.
